Drumming the Ancestral Heartbeat
Enter into “the Celtic practice of listening for the beat of God within all things” (J. Phillip Newell). In the ancient Celtic tradition, the festival of Samhain was celebrated around November first and marked the turning of the year from summer to winter. At this time of the Celtic New Year, the veil between the worlds was thin and allowed contact between the living and those ancestors who had gone before. In the Christian tradition, this was celebrated as the Feast of All Souls/Feast of All Saints. Join in this evening of drumming, ritual, and remembrance of the ancestors. Please bring a drum, or let us know that you need to borrow one when you register. Limited to 25 participants.
