Hedgerow Institute: Cosmology and Faith
Our worldview today pushes us to accompany the science of our time with theology for our time. Now that evolution and cosmology expand our understanding of the world, where are we and where are we headed?
The spring Hedgerow class will explore the cosmic vision of Teilhard de Chardin using John Haught’s book by that name, and connecting as well with Thomas Berry, Sisters of Earth, Joanna Macy, Evelyn Tucker, and Brian Swimme. A professor at Georgetown University, John Haught, will help participants connect their experience with that of others in the class and with the theologians who prompt our thoughts. Topics include Hope, Action, Spirituality of Gaudium et Spes (Church in the Modern World), God, Suffering, Life after Darwin, Mind and Nature, and Religion.
